The company was founded in 1985 as a California corporation, under the name Applipro to signify Applications Programming. In 1989 the name was changed to Modular Information Systems to more accurately reflect the expanded services and products being offered by the firm.

Originally, Modular focused on application software support. Over the years, Modular has been a resource for custom development and maintenance programming for many Manufacturing, Distribution, Accounting, Transportation, Utility, Government, Insurance, Medical, and Mail Order software packages.

Over time, Modular has added the services necessary to provide full service IT consulting. Our goal is to provide any, or all, of the resources necessary for our clients to operate their Information Systems Departments.

In 1994, Modular entered into a distribution relationship with Total Systems for Management Pty. Ltd. of Australia to resell their comprehensive Winery Management System Software package throughout the United States and Canada.

Today, Modular’s flagship product line VINTNERS ADVANTAGE has hundreds of users and is being also used as a SaaS—software as a service application for boutique wineries and small vintners.
